Kofi Annan, a diplomat from Ghana, comes to speak at this conference about trust and integrity in the global economy at Caux. Active Citizens is an organization that focuses on youth around the world who are actively engaged in bettering their community and the world. Chase Pickering discusses some of his bold ideas on youth incorporation in the community. He talks about his life, how he conceived some of his outlandish ideas, and why he believes that they will work. He speaks on this at a TEDx Next Generation in Asheville, North Carolina. All of his experiences, including those with the infamous Dr. Jane Goodall and her organization, as well as his time serving on the board of directors of her organization at the very young age of 19. His idea for change in the communities is to place people of youth in power of organizations at the highest levels in order to gain a better understanding of the youth population.

In this powerful video, a group of students from the state of New Mexico, bring their powerful message of positive peer pressure to the TedxABQ stage with their teacher Rayna Dineen. They talk about their great and successful organization that is all about getting kids to read, and to love it! These wonderful youth leaders have made a drastic change in their community, motivating thousands to pick up a book and read! They managed to set up reading incentive programs, free book “shelves” all around their community, and even establishing a great reading summer camp for underprivileged children who struggle with literacy.
