Kate Simonds, a courageous 17 year old girl, speaks at a TEDx event in Boise, Idaho, about what it is like to be a teenager. She talks about the world’s view on youth and how it needs to be changed. Respect is something that is not given to teens right off the bat, unless they have achieved some incredible feat. Kate talks in depth about how this mindset needs to change because teens and youth can be just as much of a positive change as any adult can do.

Logan LaPlante, an incredible 13 year old boy, speaks at TEDx at the University of Nevada about what it means to be happy and to be healthy. He also talks about his fascinating views on the education system, and how homeschooling has began to change her life. It can be a very difficult decision to pull your children from traditional schools, and Logan helps to instill some of the confidence parents may need to do just this. Instead of referring to himself as “homeschooled” he talks about the idea of being “hackschooled”. What he means by this is finding new and better ways to do something that people have been doing forever.
