24 Best Adversity Bible Verses

Adversity is the Hebrew word most often used for adversity is “ra`” which means “bad, evil,” or “unpleasant, displeasing” and that is a good description for someone who is going through adversity.  The Old Testament is full verses using the word adversity but we do see it in other forms in the New Testament too and it is essentially the same thing.

A friend loves at all times, And a brother is born for adversity. | Proverbs 17:17
